1 16-oz. can crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, sliced

TOPPING (if desired) :
1 c. evaporated milk
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

To make cake: Dump crushed pineapple and cherry pie filling into a 9x13-inch pan and spread evenly. Dump yellow cake mix into pan, spread it out, and dot with slices of butter.

Bake at 350 degrees until brown and crusty. Serve plain or with ice cream, whipped cream or Cool Whip.
