EASY STOLLEN 
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 (1 lb.) loaf frozen white bread, thawed
1/4 c. red candied cherries
1/4 c. sliced blanched almonds
1/4 c. golden raisins
1 egg, beaten
Confectioners sugar

In large bowl knead sugar and butter into bread dough. Add cherries and raisins. Knead well until distributed. On well floured surface pat dough into 10 long oval about one inch thick, using extra flour if dough sticks. Fold lengthwise almost in half to about 1 1/2 inches from edge. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Let rise in warm place until doubled in size. About 35 minutes. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 350 degree oven 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to rack to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
