HAMBURGER VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. hamburger
1 c. onions, chopped
1 c. sliced potatoes
1 c. sliced carrots
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped cabbage
2 cans tomatoes OR 4 c. home canned
1/4 c. (reg.) rice
3 c. water OR beef broth OR 3 tsp. instant bouillon
1 tsp. salt or less
1/2 bay leaf

Lightly brown hamburger and onions then drain. Add potatoes, carrots, celery and cabbage. Cook 30 minutes or until tender. Add the rest of the ingredients. Remove the bay leaf before serving. Freezes well.
