CRISP OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening (1/2 butter)
2 eggs
3 c. instant cooking oatmeal
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together sugars, shortening and eggs. Sift together flour, soda and cinnamon and nutmeg. Add together both mixtures with vanilla. Add oatmeal. Add nuts, raisins, chocolate chips (whichever you want). Roll into small balls and bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
