SLOPPY JOES 
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 tbsp. butter
1 (3 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
Garlic powder, salt, pepper, Lawry's seasoned salt, oregano
Brown sugar (light or dark)

Saute onion, pepper and celery in butter. Brown ground beef in skillet. Season meat to taste. Blend onion, pepper and celery into meat while cooking. Taste and add more seasoning if desired. Drain grease off, leaving enough to keep meat moist. Add sauce and paste; stir over low heat. Add 2 tablespoons brown sugar and stir. Taste, chewing slowly. Taste should be sweet, but not candy tasting. Add more brown sugar, if necessary to personal taste. Serve on hot buns.
