QUICK CRISP PICKLES 
5 lbs. cucumbers
1 c. pickling lime and water to cover
7 c. sugar
5 c. vinegar
1/2 box pickling spices, tied in a cloth bag

Slice cucumbers. Sprinkle with lime. Cover with water and allow to sit overnight. Next morning drain several times in cold water. Combine sugar, vinegar and spices. Cook until clear. Add cucumbers and pack in hot jars.
