1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 4 c. flour 1 c. cocoa 3 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 2 c. milk Cream together butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, starting with dry ingredients; add alternately with milk, end with dry ingredients. Bake 4 to 5 minutes in a 425 degree oven on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cool and sandwich together with Cream Filling. CREAM FILLING: 5 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk 1 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla Cook together flour and milk until very thick, stirring constantly. Cool until lukewarm. Cream together the shortening, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Add flour mixture and beat well until very smooth and oat grainy. |
