AUNT IRENE'S CUCUMBER PICKLES 
5 lbs. cucumbers
1 1/2 lbs. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger

Put spices in bag. Put cucumbers, salt, sugar, and spices in kettle; put sugar on top. Add 1 pint vinegar. Boil slowly 2 hours until transparent. Let stand overnight. Boil again. Seal in hot jars.
