DOUGHNUTS 
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour milk
2 tbsp. Crisco
3/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs together. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture with milk. Then thoroughly chill until it can be rolled and cut in a small portion at a time. Flour hands and board; cut 1/4-inch thick. Cook in kettle in 360-370 degree oil until done.
