1 2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/3 c. milk
2 squares melted chocolate or 1/3 c. cocoa
2 1/2 or 3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Cream together sugar, shortening, and eggs. Add milk, melted chocolate or cocoa stirred in hot water. Add dry ingredients. Mix. Chill 3-4 hours. Drop by teaspoonfuls in powdered sugar on well-greased cookie sheet. Put cookies in pans. Bake about 12 minutes in 375 degree oven.
