TIJUANA TORTE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 sm. can chopped green chilies
1 pkg. Lawry's taco seasoning mix
1 doz. corn tortillas
1 lb. cheddar cheese, grated

Brown ground beef and onions in skillet. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, green chilies and taco seasoning mix. Combine thoroughly and simmer 10 minutes. Place a little meat mixture in the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Put a tortilla on top of meat sauce on one side of dish. Put some meat sauce on top of tortilla, add some grated cheese. Repeat until 6 tortillas are used.

Make another stack of 6 tortillas, making layers like the first on the other side of dish. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly. Cut each torte in 4 pieces with sharp knife for serving. Serves 8.
