CRANBERRY FRUIT NUT BREAD 
1 c. fresh cranberries
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. shortening

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9 x 3 inch loaf pan. Prepare cranberries, nuts, and orange peel. Set aside. In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut in shortening. Stir in orange juice, egg, and orange peel, mixing just to moisten. Fold in cranberries and nuts. Spoon into prepared pan. Bake 60 minutes or until wooden toothpick in center comes out clean. Cool on rack 15 minutes. Remove from pan to cool completely.
