SUPERB MEATBALLS AND BARBECUE
SAUCE
 
1 lb. finely ground beef
1 egg
1/2 c. cracker meal
Salt and pepper
1/4 c. catsup
1 onion, chopped fine
1 sm. green pepper, chopped fine

Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Roll into 20 small balls. Place on slightly greased baking sheet, allowing enough space between balls so they will not stick together. Bake 20 minutes in 350 degree oven. Add to barbecue sauce.

SAUCE:

1 sm. onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4 c. vinegar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
Pinch of garlic powder
1 1/4 c. tomato puree
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Saute onion in olive oil until golden brown. Combine remaining ingredients and add to cooked onion. Simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce 15 minutes before serving.
