SWEDISH APPLE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. apples, cut in chunks

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix first 3 ingredients. Sift together and add to mixture dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Add vanilla and apples. Sprinkle topping over cake and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes a 9 inch square cake. May be doubled for 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 55 minutes.
