SPICY SHORT RIBS 
3 lbs. short ribs or beef
1/4 c. flour
2 tbsp. shortening
1 can condensed beef broth
1 c. dried apricots
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice

Dust ribs with flour; brown in shortening in large heavy pan. Pour off excess drippings. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over ribs. Cover; cook over low heat 2 1/2 hours or until ribs are tender. Turn ribs and baste with sauce often. Makes 6 servings.
