CLOUD BISCUITS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 lg. egg, beaten
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly grease large baking sheet. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Make a well in center; with fork, stir in egg and milk all at once; stir until dough leaves side of bowl. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface; knead, lifting one side of dough over the other and pressing out lightly with palm of hand. Repeat 20 times.

With floured rolling pin, gently roll out dough to 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut biscuits with floured 2 1/2 inch cutter, being careful not to twist cutter. Place biscuits on baking sheet; bake 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 8 biscuits.
