STARLIGHT MINT SURPRISE COOKIES 
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter (1/2 shortening)
2 eggs
1 tbsp. water
Walnuts
8 1/2 oz. Rockwell solid chocolate mint wafers

Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, water and vanilla. Beat well. Blend in dry ingredients gradually. Mix thoroughly. Cover. Chill at least 2 hours.

Open package of wafers and enclose each 1 inch about 1 tbsp. of chilled dough. Place on a greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Top each with a walnut half. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 10 to 12 minutes.
