VANILLA ICE CREAM 
4 eggs
5 1/2 c. milk
2 1/4 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 to 4 c. half-and-half cream
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat eggs till light, add sugar gradually, beating till thick. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Freeze in 5-quart ice cream freezer.
