CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BARS | |
1 (8 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate squares 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, room temp., unsalted 1/2 c. chunky peanut butter 1/3 c. firmly packed light brown sugar 1/3 c. granulated sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/3 c. unsalted peanuts, chopped Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 13"x9"x2" baking dish. Cut 2 chocolate squares into coarse chunks. Beat together butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg and vanilla in large bowl until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt until blended. Stir in chocolate chunks. Spread mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, chop remaining chocolate. Sprinkle over hot cookies in dish. Cover with aluminum foil. Let stand 5 minutes until chocolate melts. Remove foil and spread chocolate evenly over top of cookies. Sprinkle with peanuts. Cut into bars. |
