SWEDISH MEATBALLS 
1 lb. ground meat
1 sm. onion, grated
1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. shortening
1 can condensed beef consomme

Combine everything down to shortening. Place in medium bowl and mix lightly with fork. Shape into balls and brown a few at a time in shortening.

SAUCE:

Pour all the liquid from pan into a 1-cup measuring cup; add water, if needed. Return to pan and heat to boiling. Blend 2 tablespoons flour with 3 tablespoons water and stir into liquid. Cook, stirring constantly until thick, boil 1 minute.

Drain off fat, put meatballs back in pan, add consomme. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Remove meatballs with slotted spoon. Keep hot. Pour sauce over meatballs.
