APPLE ROLL 
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
3 tbsp. Crisco
Enough milk for stiff dough
3 c. apples, grated
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

SAUCE:

2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix pastry and roll in ball. Place in refrigerator while preparing apples. Roll pastry in a circle. Place apples on pastry and spread apples and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll into long roll. Slice in pin wheels. Place in oblong dish (baking). Heat ingredients for sauce and pour over pin wheels and bake until brown.
