CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE BARS | |
2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. corn syrup 6 sqs. Baker's semi-sweet chocolate 4 eggs, slightly beaten 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 c. pecans, chopped Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat flour, 1/2 cup sugar, butter and salt in bowl at medium speed until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into 15 x 10 inch baking pan. Bake 20 minutes. Microwave corn syrup and chocolate in large microwavable bowl at high 2 1/2 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring once. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Mix in remaining sugar, eggs and vanilla until blended. Stir in pecans. Spread filling evenly over hot crust. Bake 35 minutes or until filling is firm around edges and slightly soft in center. Cool on wire rack. Makes 48 bars. |
