CHOW MEIN | |
1 lb. pork (thin strips) 1 tbsp. oil 3 c. thin sliced celery 1 c. onions 1 (6 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained 2 tbsp. oil 3 tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 c. cold water 1 can beef both 1/4 c. soy sauce 1 can chow mein vegetables 1 can sliced water chestnuts Cook pork in 1 tablespoon oil. Remove from pan and cook celery, onions, and mushrooms in 2 tablespoons oil until crisp-tender, stirring often. Blend cornstarch and cold water; add beef broth and soy sauce. Add this mixture to the celery, onions and mushrooms, chow mein vegetables and water chestnuts and cooked meat. Stir until thickened. |
