1 c. brown sugar 1 c. butter 2 c. flour 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips (Use Nestle's, it's the only one that will work right for this recipe. I have tried others & have messed the whole thing up.) Walnuts, finely chopped Combine all the ingredients except chips in order given. Spread on a greased jelly roll sheet. This will be difficult, I usually moisten my hand with water and pat into shape of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 15 to 20 minutes depending on your oven. Should be a deep golden brown. Remove pan from oven and spread the chocolate chips. Now return the pan with the semi-sweet bits to the oven for a minute or two. Remove the pan and very quickly using a metal spatula spread the chocolate like a frosting over the cookie dough. Sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts. Let cool. Cut into squares and serve. If desired refrigerate to cool quickly. |
