STRAWBERRY CHIFFON PIE 
Vanilla wafers (60)
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. soft butter
1 pt. vanilla ice cream
1 pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin
Whipped cream
Several strawberries

Roll wafers into very fine crumbs (about 1 1/2 cups). In a mixing bowl blend crumbs, sugar and salt and butter. Save about 1/8 cup of crumbs for later. Press mixture in a 9" pie pan with the back of a spoon. Then bake it in a 375 degree oven until lightly browned, about 8 minutes.

For the filling, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of hot water. Then add 1/2 cup cold water. Cut vanilla ice cream into six chunks. Add the ice cream to the gelatin mixture and stir it until the ice cream melts. Then pour the mixture into the cooled crust and place it in the refrigerator until it is firm (about 1 1/2 to 2 hours).

Immediately before you serve it, sprinkle the remaining crumbs on the top and decorate around the edge with whipped cream. Then arrange the strawberries in the whipped cream and your strawberry chiffon pie will be complete.
