ENGLISH TOFFEE 
2 c. sugar
1 lb. butter
6 tbsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla
12 Hershey bars (6 to a box)
1 c. (approx.) chopped pecans

Combine first four ingredients and cook to hard crack stage. Pour onto 2 buttered cookie sheets.

Melt chocolate bars in double boiler. Spread quickly over other ingredients. Sprinkle with finely chopped pecans. Press down lightly. Let cool in refrigerator. Crack when hard.
