DANISH APPLE SQUARES 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. Crisco
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 egg yolks
Milk
1 c. crushed corn flakes
Lemon juice
Butter

APPLE MIXTURE:

6 c. peeled, sliced apples
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

TOP:

2 egg whites

Cut Crisco into mixture of flour, salt and sugar. Beat egg yolks with fork in measuring cup. Add milk to make 2/3 cup. Add to flour mixture to make soft dough. Divide in half, roll out on floured surface to fit cookie sheet. Sprinkle corn flakes over dough. Add apple mix.

Sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with butter. Roll out the rest of the dough. Put on the top. Pinch sides. Beat egg whites until foamy. Brush top of Danish. (Peaches can be used.) You also can add raisins to apple mixture. 11x16 cookie pan 3/4 to 1 inch deep, greased. Bake 375 degrees 45 minutes.
