POTATOES AU GRATIN 
4 med. size potatoes
4 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. flour
1 sm. clove garlic, finely chopped
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
1 c. Cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp. paprika

Scrub potatoes, prick with fork and microwave on high for 12-13 minutes. Put butter and garlic in 1 quart glass measure and microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Whisk in flour, pepper and salt.

Put milk in 2 cups glass measure and microwave 3 minutes on high. Stir into flour mixture and microwave on high for 2 minutes, stir, microwave on medium (50%) for 2 minutes. Stir in cheese.

Peel and slice potatoes; arrange in 8 x 8 x 2 inch casserole. Pour the sauce over the potatoes and stir. Sprinkle with paprika. Microwave on medium (50%) for 5-7 minutes until potatoes are tender.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
