GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
2 eggs 1 c. oil 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 4 c. Pippin or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored & thinly sliced 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional) Beat eggs; add oil and beat until foamy. Add sugar and vanilla. Sift flour, cinnamon, soda and salt. Add to egg mixture. Add apples and walnuts. Bake in greased 9x13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool and frost. FROSTING: Mix: 6 oz. cream cheese 3 tbsp. melted butter 2 - 2 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar |
