STRAWBERRY 'N OAT BARS | |
3/4 c. butter 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. oats 1 c. chopped nuts 1 c. strawberry preserves Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add combined flour, soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats and nuts. Reserve 1/2 cup of mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture in bottom of a greased 13x9 pan. Spread preserves to within 1/2 inch of edges. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool to room temperature, then chill for 1/2 hour. Cut into bars. Makes 20. |
