BAKED FUDGE DESSERT 
BATTER:

3 tbsp. shortening
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk

Cream shortening and sugar. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk. Add chopped nuts. Pour into 8-inch ungreased pan.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. boiling water

Blend cocoa with salt and brown sugar. Sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over all. Don't stir. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
