CABBAGE ROLLS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. pork sausage 1 medium onion, chopped 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1 1/2 c. white or brown rice (uncooked) 1 medium head green cabbage 1 c. cider vinegar water Clean cabbage, remove core and separate leaves. In a large bowl, mix together ground meat, chopped onions, salt, pepper and uncooked rice. Make into 8 to 10 meatballs. Wrap each meatball in one or two cabbage leaves. Place in large cooking pot. Add leftover cabbage leaves on top. Add cider vinegar, then add water to cover over cabbage rolls and cabbage leaves. Bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 90 minutes. |
