SUGAR PLUM BREAD 
3/4 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 c. orange candy slices, cut fine
1 1/4 c. nuts
1/2 c. chopped dates

In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and eggs. Sift together soda and flour. Add to mix alternately with buttermilk and lemon juice. Mix in orange slices, nuts and dates. Pour into greased mini bread pans.

Bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours or less. Very good!
