DATE/NUT CAKE 
4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sifted flour
1 lb. pitted dates
4 c. pecan halves

Combine eggs, sugar and oil. Beat well. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Place in greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Start cake in cold oven. Bake in slow oven (300 degrees) for 2 hours.
