EASY NO - KNEAD BREAD | |
5 c. warm water 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/2 c. honey 1/2 c. shortening 2 tbsp. plus 2 tsp. salt 12 c. whole-wheat flour, divided Butter Pour warm water in large bowl. Add yeast. Let stand until yeast shows life, then add honey, shortening, salt, and 6 cups flour. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, then add 6 more cups flour. Stir with spoon. Let rise. Spoon into pans and let rise again. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Brush tops with butter. Makes 4 large or 7 small loaves. |
