SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE 
3 c. sifted cake flour (sift twice more)
3 c. sugar
1 c. butter (2 sticks)
1/4 tsp. baking soda
6 eggs, separated
1/2 pt. sour cream (commercial type)

To these ingredients add 1/4 teaspoon baking powder. Result: the cakes rise to the top of the tube pan. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly, add egg yolks one at a time. Add soda and baking powder to flour. Alternately add flour and sour cream to creamed mixture. Beat egg whites stiff and fold in. (No flavoring is needed). Bake in large-sized tube pan, greased and floured at 300 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours.
