CHOW MEIN 
3/4 lb. pork, cut into bite-size pieces
3/4 lb. beef, cut into bite-size pieces
1 tbsp. oil
6-9 tbsp. soy sauce
1 c. water
4-6 stalks celery, cut in pieces
1 med. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts
1 (8 oz.) can sliced bamboo shoots
1 (14 oz.) can bean sprouts
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
Rice
Chow mein noodles

Brown meats in hot oil. Add soy sauce and water. Then add celery and onion. Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, adding water if necessary. Put together the cornstarch and water. Add to meat mixture and mix well. Add water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, bean sprouts and heat through. Serve over rice and top with chow mein noodles.
