SOUTHERN EGGNOG 
1 lb. superfine sugar
1 pt. bourbon
1/2 pt. rum
1/4 pt. brandy
9 egg yolks
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream

Put sugar in large punch bowl. Pour bourbon, rum and brandy over sugar and let stand for 3 hours. Beat egg yolks well and stir, slowly, into mixture. Just before serving, add vanilla ice cream, stirring slowly until lumps disappear. Serves 20.
