VINEGAR TAFFY 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Butter, to grease platter (and your hands!)

In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, vinegar and water. Stir well before cooking. Cook over low heat until mixture reaches the hard crack stage. Add butter and vanilla. Pour mixture onto a buttered platter and let it cool enough so that you can handle it.
