BANANA LAYER CAKE 
2 c. mashed bananas (4-5)
1/4 c. milk
1 c. shortening
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
4 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Combine bananas and milk. Cream together shortening and vanilla, gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well until light and fluffy.

Sift together baking powder, soda, salt and flour. Add alternately with bananas and milk to creamed mixture. Beating smooth after each addition. Pour into 3 greased and floured 9 inch pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Very good.

FLUFFY FROSTING:

Cook 1 package vanilla pudding and 1 cup milk until thick. Cool. 3/4 cup shortening (1/2 and 1/2, Crisco and butter). 1 teaspoon vanilla. 1 cup sugar (1/2 cup powdered and 1/2 cup white). Beat until fluffy.
