RED VELVET CAKE 
1/2 c. butter flavored Crisco
2 lg. eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. vinegar
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 oz. red food color

Cream together Crisco, sugar and eggs for 10 minutes. Sift together dry ingredients. Alternately add dry mixture and buttermilk to creamed mixture. When all are added, add remaining ingredients. Pour into two 9-inch pans and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

ICING:

In small saucepan, combine 1 cup milk, 3 tablespoons flour and a pinch of salt. Cook until thick. Cool completely. Cream 1 cup butter flavored Crisco, 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add to cooled mixture. Slice each cake round into 2 layers and frost.
