1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/8 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, then the rest of the ingredients. Drop cookie dough with teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. You may decorate or add raisins or nuts. They're great just plain.
