STRAWBERRIES IN A CLOUD 
MERINGUE:

3 egg whites, room temperature
1 c. sugar
10 saltine crackers, crushed
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. pecans, crushed

FILLING:

1 pt. fresh strawberries, sliced
1 c. whipping cream
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Beat egg whites until frothy; add sugar and continue beating until very stiff. Mix cracker crumbs with baking powder and pecans. Fold into egg whites and shape into a 9 inch greased pie pan. Bake 30 minutes; cool. Fill cooled meringue with strawberries, whip cream with sugar, and vanilla; pile on top of the pie. Chill.
