SNICKERDOODLES 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Beat butter and Crisco until light; add 1 1/2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; add to beaten mixture. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.

Shape dough into small balls, about 1 inch, and roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Be careful not to overbake or over brown. Cookies will flatten during baking. Remove cookies and cool on racks. Makes about 6 dozen.
