UPSIDE-DOWN POPOVER PIZZA | |
10 oz. pork sausage or 1 lb. ground beef 1 med. onion, chopped (about 1/2 c.) 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 2 tbsp. flour 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced 2 eggs 1 c. milk 1 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese Heat oven to 425 degrees. Cook and stir sausage and onion in 10 inch skillet until sausage is brown and onion is tender; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, green pepper and 2 tablespoons flour. Heat to boiling. Boil and stir 1 minute. Pour into ungreased rectangular pa, 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Arrange Mozzarella cheese slices on top. Beat eggs, oil, milk, 1 cup flour and the salt with beater until smooth; pour over cheese slices. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake until puffy and golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Serve immediately. 6 servings. (Note: Your own favorite toppings may be added to the sauce, too.) |
