ALABAMA POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter (1 c.)
1/2 lb. solid vegetable shortening (1 c.)
2 2/3 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. flour
8 eggs
6 to 8 tbsp. cream (or Milnot)
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream together butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Sift flour twice and add alternately with cream. Mix well. Add vanilla. Bake in angel food cake pan or in bundt pan (will not hold it all, so use one 2-pound loaf pan). Bake at 275 degrees for 2 hours or longer.
