GERMAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL NUT CAKE | |
60 caramels 1 lg. can evaporated milk 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. melted butter 1 c. nuts 1 c. chocolate chips Melt caramels and 1/2 can evaporated milk. Cook over low heat; stir often. Grease and flour a 9 x 14 inch pan. In large bowl, mix cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and 1 cup nuts. Press 1/2 dough in pan. Bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips over this. Put rest of dough on top. Return to oven. Bake 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and refrigerate. Cut later. Turn out 1 hour before serving. Cut into small pieces. |
