GERMAN NUT CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 lb. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. rum
1/4 lb. Baker's chocolate
1/2 lb. flour
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon
2 med. apples
1/2 lb. pecans, cut small
2 tsp. baking powder

Beat butter until smooth, add 1 egg, a little sugar, 1 egg, a little sugar until 6 eggs are in batter, add vanilla extract, cinnamon, lemon, rum and chocolate; beat; add sifted flour mixed with baking powder; peel apples, slice in small pieces and add to batter. Bake at 375 degrees for at least 1 hour. After cake cools, sift powdered sugar over cake.
