DILL PICKLES 
Small cucumbers
Pickling spice
Dill
Powdered alum
Garlic

FOR BRINE:

1 qt. white vinegar
3 qts. water
1 c. canning salt

Wash cucumbers and pack into canning jars. Add to each quart:

1 tsp pickling spice
1 sprig of dill
1/2 tsp. powdered alum
1/2 clove garlic

Mix ingredients for brine and bring to a boil. Pour brine over cucumbers to over-flowing. Remove air bubbles by inserting knife around edges. Wipe top of jar. Seal with canning lids and rings.
