FRUIT BARS 
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cans pie filling (apple, blueberry or cherry)

Cream softened butter. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla; beat well. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Spread 3/4 of batter on ungreased jelly roll pan or cookie sheet with sides. Spread pie filling evenly over batter. (If using apple, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.) Dot remaining 1/4 batter on top of fruit. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
